So unless you are living under a rock you’ll know that football season is in full swing right now. We definitively like football around here and watch willingly and eagerly on Saturday and Sunday. I feel football demands certain food and while I like wings and beer well enough a little variety never hurt anyone. I first had Buffalo Chicken Pizza at CPK and I was in love. It’s such a simple concept that turns awesome when you have that first bite. The slightly or very (depending on your preference) spicy sauce paired with the crunch of celery and carrots is enough for me to stand up and do my very own touchdown celebration. Well, maybe not quite.

Buffalo Chicken Pizza

1 recipe pizza dough
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 lb chicken, cooked and shredded
2 tsp grill seasoning
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
3 tbsp hot sauce (for moderate spiciness, can increase or decrease to taste)
1/2 cup tomato sauce
2 celery stalks, diced
2 medium carrots, peeled and diced
1 cup shredded cheddar/monterey jack blend
1 cup shredded mozzarella

Preheat oven to 400.  Spread dough on cookie sheet or pizza stone.  Bake until pizza dough starts to puff up.

Place cooked chicken in a bowl and add Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce and tomato sauce, stirring to combine.  Heat through, 2-3 minutes.

Add chicken mixture to pizza crust.  Sprinkle diced celery and carrots over top of chicken.  Top with cheese  Bake aprox 13 minutes or until crust is brown. Serve with celery sticks and ranch if desired.
